FAQ
How long does the battery last?
A battery charge provides 3 to 4 hours of continuing sweeping depending on conditions. In real life situations, the operator will switch the brush off when no sweeping is needed, extending sweeping sessions. If needed, the battery can be swapped with a spare one using the supplied battery key.
How quickly does the brush wear?
Our sweepers are designed to minimize the friction between the brush and the ground, therefore limiting the bristles wear and tear. Under normal load, we expect the brush to last many years.
Can the sweepers remove debris from gutters?
Our sweepers can only clean up to about 3 to 4 inches (7-10 cm) from gutter curbs. We understand this limitation, and we’re exploring options for side brushing mechanisms. In the pick-up mode, the clearance is about 3 inches (7 cm) so large items won’t be gathered in the bins but pushed to the side.
Can the sweepers handle leaves?
The push-aside model and the hybrid model in the push-aside mode will sweep leaves effectively if dry or wet and in reasonable accumulation. If the leaves have been allowed to accumulate and rot, the sweeper may not be able to remove the resulting sludge. Pick-up sweeping of leaves is limited due to the large volume that leaves take and the limited capacity of the bins.
Can the sweepers handle snow?
If the snow is light and only a few inches/centimeters deep, then the push-aside sweepers can sweep snow. If the snow is too deep, heavy or wet for the sweepers, plowing shovels and snow blowers will be a better option.
Why not have the brush in front of the sweeper operator to prevent flat tires for them?
It is far preferable to have the brush behind the operator to avoid exposing them to dust. The low recommended sweeping speed of around 8–15km/h makes it easy to see and avoid certain debris. This combined with good tires makes flat tires highly unlikely, based on our experience.
