Funding options
If you are a municipality, a government agency or a non-profit:
Many grants are available at a local or state level, in the areas of Clean Air, Environmental Issues, Innovation, Safe Routes to School or even Debris Removal. It take a bit of time to research and the process is lengthy, but usually the grants provide the most amount of funds. If needed, we can provide a formal sale proposal to include in your grant application
Other funding sources, open to all:
Crowd-funding
Gofundme.com has helped many communities and individuals raise money to cover the cost of a sweeper. The more you can leverage your social media reach, the better. Here are examples of successful GoFundMe campaigns in Atlanta, Charlotte, Napa, Long Beach and the Sunshine Coast.
Advertising
The polycarbonate sheet wrapping around the sweeper can provide prime real-estate for local businesses to advertise. The push-aside has roughly 3 feet by 1.5 feet and the pickup 2.5 by 2.5 feet of available space. You can also attach a flag (for example, of the type with a teardrop shape) with attention grabbing advertising space.
One buyer gathered the community at a local brewery, and in exchange for the added business, the owner bought advertising space on the sweeper for a year. Now the sweeper can get dusty, make sure you wipe it clean before you show if off!
Corporations assistance
The company you work for might be open to assisting you financially to promote bicycling to work. Some major corporations offer grants (e.g. Walmart) on a recuring basis.
Good luck, and talk to us if you’d need any further assistance.
